McGowan's Pass
Rob Smith
The McGowan Chronicles
In New York's Central Park, near 106th Street, there is a little known rock formation that was called McGown's Pass. It was named
after a popular tavern operated by the McGown family in the late 17th century. This opening between two rock formations provided George
Washington a retreat after the Battle of Brooklyn. While teaching at Firelands College near his home in Ohio, Davis takes a lesson
from this history to resolve a mystery written in bones.
